Due to some turbulence, our flight to Taipei took a little longer than expected. We were supposed to land at 4:05am but instead, we landed at 4:57am. We were able to go through customs somewhat successfully and locate our luggage almost right away. It took us a little bit of time to pick up the portable Wi-Fi and I ordered since the place opens at 6:00am.
My little aunt and uncle came to the arrival just in time to take us to the place we will be staying for this trip. We are staying on the 11th floor!!!!
After we got to the place that we will be staying for this trip, we walked over to Wade and Claire's place and we toured around then discussed breakfast choices. We said we wanted to try some rice balls so Wade took us to Mama Liu's:
We also tried some "shaobing." We got one salty one and one sweet one.
We spent a little more time at Wade and Claire's place then we went "home" to rest. Wade asked us to join them for dinner at 7:30pm.
Around 3:00pm, I asked Catherine if she wanted to walk to Cosmed (similar to Walgreens or CVS) with me so we could get some items that she wanted. It was sprinkling a little bit. After we came down to the courtyard of the community, the rain got more serious. So before we could do anything else, we stopped by the 7-11 and bought 2 umbrellas. It took us 15 minutes of walking to get to Cosmed and we shopped there for about 20 minutes then we walked back. By the time we got back to the 11th floor, the bottom half of our bodies were wet.
I should've set an alarm at 7:15pm so we could get ready and walk over to the Huangs' place, but I didn't and I fell asleep at 4:00-ish (the effect of jet lag). I suddenly woke up around 8:10pm and noticed that everybody else was also sleeping... and I saw all the missed call from Wade... I quickly called back and woke up everybody to walk over...
The Huang's had ordered some take-out and it was a nice dinner. We also met the three kids who are still home: J.J., Melody, and Ray Ray. We chatted till 11:00pm and walked back to turn ourselves in. Hopefully we could knock this jet lag thing out just in a couple days!
